The map compares two possible locations for the construction of a new supermarket in a town called Garlsdon.
The major difference between the two sites is that one is in the countryside outside the town, while the other is situated in the town centre. Both potential sites are close to the railway and roads as well.
The first possible location for the supermarket (S1) is in the countryside to the north-west of Garlsdon, but it is also close to the residential housing area of the town. This location is between the railway and a main road which connects the town centre of Garlsdon with a smaller town Hindon.
The second site (S2), by contrast, is located in the town centre which is traffic free. It is therefore accessible by train instead of by car as it is reasonably near to the railway. However, this location is closer to main ways in the south than S1 so it is easier to reach there from Bransdon and Cransdon.
