The maps illustrate the current plan and proposed changes to the town of Islip.

Overall, the biggest change is the construction of a service complex which is built together with new accommodations. This area is planned to be encircled by a new dual carriageway.

Looking at the maps in more details, we can see that the current main road which runs through the city from east to west will be pedestrianised. Another change regarding roads is that there will be a dual carriageway that forms a ring around the town centre.

Currently there are two rows of shops located on both sides of the main road.  However, the shops along the north of this road will be demolished to make way for a bus station, shopping centre, car park and new housing area. It is also proposed that the park in the south will be reduced in size because of the construction of new houses within the ring road.
